If there was such a thing called the Atherton Hills, it would be located at the west side of Alameda de las Pulgas, between Walsh Road and Stockbridge Avenue. This part of Atherton is more natural and less manicured than the rest of the city. It also has newer estates cropping up rapidly as well as renovations on older ones.

Long driveways and gates gives these estates a sense of intrigue and curiosity. Many wind through hills covered with trees such as oaks, redwoods, and eucalyptus. Some even have breathtaking views of city lights beyond rolling hills, which gives this bucolic neighborhood a sense of beauty that is unparalleled.

Even with the occasional passing deer and hoot-hoot from owls, it is still a stone’s throw away from 280, Woodside and Stanford. Many residents like the fact they live in a natural quiet environment, but are still close to civilization.

Every year, the mostly private neighbors have an annual picnic, which is a mix of younger familes and older residents. Schools are located in the award winning Las Lomitas School District
