With its rural feel and eclectic mix of design, University Heights is a much sought after neighborhood, particularly by young families who are attracted to its sturdy supply of smaller starter homes and its excellent Los Lomitas school district. Located in the southwest corner of Central Menlo Park, University Heights is actually under the jurisdiction of the County of San Mateo. The County Sheriff offers police services and the Menlo Park Fire Department covers the neighborhood for fire and rescue. Sometimes also referred to as Menlo Heights, West Menlo or even just “County”, University Heights has recently seen the addition of larger brand new homes and remodeled homes as many families have opted to stay in the neighborhood rather than move into the larger homes found in adjoining Central Menlo Park. The neighborhood is an easy walk to the Alameda de las Pulgas shopping district and a short drive into downtown Menlo Park.
