Old La Honda Road starts at Portola Road and climbs up to Skyline Boulevard. It is a very popular route with cyclists, as it is a less busy street than the other routes to Skyline because it is marked as closed to through traffic. The area is heavily wooded with oaks at the bottom, continuing up to the towering redwoods near the summit. There is a wide variety of homes along the road - newer luxurious, large homes, and cabins. Old La Honda Road has a very private and rural feel.
