A hidden gem within the exclusive town of Atherton, Lloyden Park has a charming and quaint neighborhood feel. Originally a large estate owned by Joseph Coryell, the land was sub-divided in 1927 into 86 approximately one-third acre lots. Slowly over the next few decades, custom-homes were built in varied architectural styles ranging from traditional, contemporary to even art deco designs that commemorated the 1939 San Francisco World’s Fair. Different from the rural feel of the rest of Atherton, Lloyden Park has a distinctly manicured presence due to the confluence of sidewalks, curbs & gutters, under-ground utilities, smaller parcels and mainly one-story homes. Remnants from the Coryell Estate today still grace the neighborhood, gas lamp pillars marking the entry at either end of Lloyden Drive and the original carriage house at 48 Lloyden Dr.

Lloyden Park is within walking distance of the Town of Atherton’s civic core (including council chambers and the library) and Holbrook Palmer Park, which includes tennis courts, play-structures and open fields where Fourth of July parades, Easter egg hunts, summer music, plays and other community activities are held.
