Linfield Oaks consists of 80 acres bordered by the San Francisquito Creek, Middlefield Road, Ravenswood Avenue and Alma Street. The area was developed in the early 1950s by Claude and Ray Lindsay as a planned community with single family homes, garden apartments, and at the borders, campus-style office space such as Sunset Magazine, Western Headquarters of the U.S. Geological Survey and Stanford Research Institute. Whether it’s cycling in the foothills, enjoying dinner downtown, strolling at Stanford Shopping Center or heading over to the University for a performance or football game – you’re delightfully close to it all.
Linfield Oaks is a very cohesive neighborhood. You will routinely find kids playing out in front of their homes and neighbors walking their dogs. There is an end of summer block party and several of the streets have great Christmas lights.
Because of the proximity to Burgess Park and downtowns Menlo Park and Palo Alto, Linfield Oaks is the nexus for many people’s interests. Burgess Park is a great central location. Any day of the week you will find families playing at the playground or swimming at the pool. It also has a brand new gymnasium, a skateboard park, soccer and baseball fields, tennis courts, swimming pool, enclosed playground and duck pond. The Recreation Center hosts an array of events from exercise classes to camps in the summer. Burgess Park is also the site of the City of Menlo Park Business Offices.
