This large neighborhood between Middlefield and Bay Road is cherished for its bucolic setting of tree-lined, curving, and pedestrian friendly streets. Lindenwod is casual, but decidedly affluent. It is a beautiful neighborhood of lush landscaping and narrow winding streets with no sidewalks. Today, the neighborhood includes a tasteful mix of eclectic homes built in the 1930's, original custom ranch homes, mid-century contemporaries and modern estate size homes. The great Flood estate was subdivided in 1937 to form the neighborhood. The imposing gates of the Flood estate, called Linden Towers by its owner and "the wedding cake" by the locals, form the entryway into the neighborhood. Fountains and other vestiges of the estate can still be found on corners and in backyards.
